Here at Studio Sprout, we threw caution to the wind and used just about anything we could get our hands on for these collages. It was so fun to watch each child create a piece and leave with it framed.
Materials Needed:
- White Card stock
- Newsprint
- Glue Sticks
- Scissors
- Paint Brushes
- Scrapbook Paper Strips, magazine strips, recycled art
- Various Colors of Tape (masking or washi)
- Oil Pastels
- Watercolor (ours had glitter)
- Frames (Dollar Tree Certificate frames rock!)
In our younger classes, we left the project open ended and the results were AMAZING. We began simply with gluing the paper strips and applying tape onto the white card stock
We then added pastels (both oil and chalk) to the available materials. They were to be very free with the coloring both on and around the adhered paper strips.
After receiving the water color paint, the students were encouraged to cover all the white space of the paper.
The students blotted their artwork with newsprint to soak up any puddles of paint and prepare it for framing.
I love them all framed. It’s the best way to honor our little artists and their amazing work.
