Raspberry Canes

The newest edition to our edible garden is a raspberry patch. YUM, I can’t wait!
Inspired by a good friend I have decide to grow more fruit that once established will produce year after year. My family loves raspberries and I imagine my students will too.
My Tuesday 4pm class of 4-6 year old students helped make cane markers so we can identify each variety as it grows. We used paint sticks, sharpies, and oil pastels to decorate them.

I chose four different ever bearing varieties: Amity, Fall Gold (yellow berry), Caroline, and Indian Summer.

The canes were planted 1/19/13.
